Step-by-step technical guides to enable advanced call filtering on the major U.S. carriers and phone platforms. These are device settings — Signal Sanctuary is a research tool, not a blocking service.

  1. 01Open the AT&T Call Protect app (free for AT&T Wireless customers), or use the built-in Phone settings on most AT&T Android devices.
  2. 02Tap the hamburger menu → Settings.
  3. 03Turn on Caller ID and Spam Risk Identification.
  4. 04Enable Spam & Scam Blocking — suspicious numbers are sent straight to voicemail or blocked.
  5. 05Optionally turn on Block Unknown Numbers to silence callers not in your contacts.

Carrier filtering helps reduce interruptions but isn't foolproof — scammers spoof numbers. Use it together with research here and official reporting to the FTC/FCC.
